Several hours later, Cass strode into the bar half a block from her small trailer. Just a couple of hours of being admired by men might perk her up. She’d exchanged her jeans and T-shirt for a sparkling emerald dress that glittered in the subdued lighting of the tavern. Sitting in the middle of the bar, with empty seats all around her, she knew every male in the room, including the bartender, ogled her tits, rounded ass and long legs that looked like perfection in black stiletto heels. If she didn’t break her neck, she might get lucky and forget her horrible day. The mirror behind the bar reflected the few male patrons sipping drinks on this slow, middle of a weeknight. Her ego had taken a real beating, first by Jerry and then the ambitious Noreen. She needed a boost.
The bartender handed her a beer as she peered into the mirror behind him, studying the men seated further down the bar and scattered around the tables behind her. Toby Keith proclaimed how much he loved this bar from the jukebox, and a baseball game played on the two televisions mounted high in the corners behind the barman.
Her gaze swept over the reflections in the mirror when he walked in. Out the corner of her eye, an emerald glow flashed as she turned away to look straight at him. Her stomach did a slow roll of sexual awareness. God, he’s yummy. With long, black hair, glittering green eyes, and a muscular yet trim build that would make any girl swoon, he sent the blood boiling in her veins and her heart pounding; the eye candy Cass needed. She flashed him a brilliant smile, hoping he would take one of the empty seats beside her. He nodded, jerked his head toward the corner, and moved away. Her heart fluttered. Did he just invite me to join him?
Grabbing her courage, she wobbled in her heels over to the corner table and flipped her brown hair over a shoulder. “May I?” She’d never picked up a man in a bar before, usually feeling too tired at the end of long hours in front of the camera, and too nervous to try. She eyed him, her heart thumping in her chest. Was I wrong about the interest in his eyes? He nodded, and she slid into the chair nearest him as the bartender set a glass of scotch on the rocks in front of him.
Her gaze roamed over dark jeans molded on his body like a second skin, and the black, short-sleeve shirt with the top buttons open that revealed wisps of ebony chest hair. Work boots completed the casual, but expensive attire. Muscles rippled in his arms as he lifted his drink to full-sculpted lips Cass wanted to feel on her own. A longing sigh escaped her as he put the glass down and turned those glittering green eyes on her. The impact of his piercing stare robbed her of breath. As she drowned in those emerald pools, she wondered if she had any secrets left.
“Rough day,” he commented in a deep voice that sent tingles up her spine.
His tone stroked her senses. His penetrating stare held her, and she couldn’t look away. She nodded. “I think it’s better now.”
His lips curved in a slow, appreciative smile and her body flared with desire. He had such a devastating effect on her, and he hadn’t touched her in any way. His presence of pure sexy male turned her insides liquid and dampened her pussy.
He leaned closer, laying a warm hand over hers. Heat flashed between them. “Do you really want to stay here?”
She peered straight into his eyes, those glittering orbs absorbing her soul. “No,” she replied. She’d found what she wanted.
They left the bar hand in hand. Without conscious thought, Cass walked him to her ugly, red trailer just up the road. She had never been so in need of a man, and certainly not on the basis of looks alone. Although stunned, she didn’t want to wait a minute longer than necessary.
She unlocked the deadbolt and allowed him in first. He closed the door by shoving her against it. Anticipation raced through her, sharpening her senses as they narrowed on the man before her. His mouth covered hers, and she would have fainted from the impact if his body hadn’t pinned her in place.
The huge bulge of his rigid cock against her thigh lit her pussy on fire. Craving him, she yanked his shirt from his jeans and shoved her hands under the fabric to maul his hard chest. Her fingers twisted in crisp, black chest hairs. His tongue plowed between her lips, seeking and demanding more than willing response. He tasted so good, so intoxicating; she couldn’t get enough of him. Her pussy throbbed and burned, aching for his cock.
He dragged his mouth from hers, gasping for breath. “I want you,” he declared. “All of you.”
