Blurb:
While waiting for the police to collect a shoplifter, store manager, Andrea, enlivens what promises to be a long boring evening by chatting up the new security guard. Luke is well worth looking at; lean, muscular, quiet and self-possessed. She admires his slim physique and his long, noticeably unadorned fingers but, as always, he seems rather distant. She likes her men quiet but not totally silent.
Luke responds to Andrea’s advances by revealing his interest in her uniform. Flattered by his revelation, Andrea waits impatiently until they have the store to themselves then she leads Luke to the staff room and offers him the opportunity to make his dreams come true.

Excerpt:
She took the plunge and asked a more directly personal question. “You married?” She smiled offering him encouragement. “Or got a girlfriend or anything?”
“No, you?”
“I was engaged a couple of years back, but he broke it off. Probably as well. I’ve been out with a couple of guys since then, but nothing serious.”
“You worked here long?” he asked.
“Six years. I started on the tills straight out of school, worked my way up.”
“Is this what you want to do with your life?”
“God, no. The pay’s rubbish and it’s hardly the height of glamour, is it?” She pulled at her skirt with one hand, attempting to display its inadequacies.
“Oh, I don’t know.”
Andrea laughed. “Don’t tell me you like it.”
He looked awkward. “Yeah, well…”
“You do like it?”
“Yeah.”
“It’s hardly very sexy; I mean, if this skirt was six inches shorter and the jacket wasn’t so shapeless it might be okay.”
She pulled the skirt up slightly, showing off a few more inches of her shapely thighs.
“Okay, it looks better like that.”
He seemed to have relaxed a bit and was more comfortable talking to her. Andrea felt like the evening was not going to be a complete waste, after all. Flirting with a cute bloke was as good a way to pass the time as any and he was definitely flirting back a little.
“It looks really soft,” he ran a finger over her sleeve, exploring the fabric, “but it doesn’t feel so good.”
“It’s a cheap, manmade fibre, bloody freezing in the winter, makes you sweat in the summer; total crap.”
He nodded, “Ah well.”
“You sound disappointed.”
“Well, I sort of liked the look of the thing. I don’t know, it doesn’t matter.”
There was something about his tone, and the way he looked past her, as though what he was thinking had embarrassed him. Had there been anything else to do, she might have let the moment pass, but Andrea was bored, and that made her more nosey than was usually her nature.
“Liked it how much?”
“I just liked it, okay?”
He was starting to sound defensive and she realised she was finally on to something.
“You’re not kinky that way, are you?”
“What do you mean?”
“You’re not a, what do you call it? A tranny? A transvestite?”
He looked away, turning his head so that she could no longer see his face.
“No,” he said, but his tone was strained and unconvincing.
“You are, you’re a tranny!” she said triumphantly.
Luke said nothing at all.
