Very occasionally, looking over your neighbour’s fence can yield erotic pleasures more satisfying than any fantasy.
Dale is a twenty-one year old university student who has come home for the holidays. It’s his first visit since leaving home six months earlier and not everything has stayed the same. For one thing he has a new neighbor. A policeman. Not that Dale has seen the uniform. In fact, the first time he sees Pieter it is while he is enjoying a naked dip in his backyard swimming pool. Safely behind the curtains of his bedroom window, Dale watches Pieter climb out of the pool; his naked body tanned and hairy and dripping with water. Dale can’t help but get aroused. Yet this is just his introduction to the ruggedly handsome man next door. There is so much more to come.

I was standing by the floor-length window in my bedroom. I’d been staring up at the great banks of cumulus sliding across the sky like islands of cotton wool. In the city I was always too busy to notice things like clouds. University took up most of my time and when I wasn’t in lectures, or studying or researching information for assignments, I was working at Johnson’s Art Supplies. Life was faster in the city and I just never seemed to look up.
My mother was at work. Now divorced, she had to earn the bread. Dad had paid her what the courts had decided he should and to his credit he was also subsidising my studies. It was the least he could do to make up for all the things he hadn’t done in the past.
My attention was soon snatched away from the heavens by the sound of a splash coming from the pool next door. I didn’t know the new neighbour. He was a single parent; a policeman I think Mum had said. He’d moved in shortly after I’d left home for the big city. With nothing better to do I watched him swim a lap of the pool then hoist himself out at the far end. For a moment he sat on the edge, his legs dangling in the water, enabling me to get a better look at him.
I could see at a glance that his hair was dark even though it had been clippered very close to the scalp. His skin was either very well tanned or naturally olive and the features of his face were pleasant from where I was standing. His chest was very well-developed and covered in dark hair, which clung to his skin as snakes of water ran down through it. Only when he stood did I realise he was naked.
My eyes were riveted on him. The sunlight glistened on the beads of water that adorned his fine, masculine body, and as he stretched his arms out wide I could see the muscles pulsing and moving beneath his skin. In a fluid, almost graceful movement, he bent forward and scraped the water from his legs, flicking the water off his hands each time he reached his ankles.
Then he turned, his back to me, shook his body and bent over once more, allowing me to see for the first time his muscular back, the pale orbs of his arse cheeks and the dark line of hair that ran from just above his crack to a point somewhere between his legs.
