An ultra-femme fashion model finds herself stranded “…on some wild headland in north Scotland” [p. 2] after she crashes her Jaguar into a peat bog. She’s saved by a strapping “butch dyke” who at first glance appears to be a man, but is in fact a sexy woman on horseback. All sorts of fun and adventure ensue when Bryana Austin accepts assistance from her gallant rescuer, Cassie Stuart. Much to her surprise and delight, she arrives at an old, but refurbished, Scottish Castle with all the modern conveniences a woman could want. The best part is a fully-equipped playroom for those who enjoy indulging their kinky side with bondage. Lucky for Bryana, she’s easily turned on by both her captor and the “pleasure palace.”
In a well-crafted, femerotic BDSM short filled with vivid images, witty and believable characters, and a charming, yet erotic and somewhat dangerous setting, Dalia Craig delivers a story that could easily become the beginnings of a full-length novel. I’d love to know more about Bryana and Cassie. Craig has a way with words, “An ice-cold shower of reality doused the flames of desire in an instant” [p. 6]. Her sharp sense of humor is evident, for instance, when Bryana muses about getting up on a “smelly” horse, “How the hell did one mount something this tall without a ladder, especially dressed as [she] was in a tight skirt” [p. 2]? The build up to the climactic ending kept me turning the pages to see what would happen next.
Taming Bryana is a fine example of Craig’s fresh, distinctive voice. I look forward to following her career, which has gotten off to a great start. Don’t miss this entertaining, satisfying and enjoyable read. ~ Review by Cheri Crystal, Author of Attractions of the Heart
